You may ask why? Rubber suited aliens? Really? Well, you see, there is a classic sf story called "Arena" by Frederic Brown that I had read a few years before, and this story was taken from that one -- it's very recognizable. And I was in sheer glee that a for-really-true SF story had been on tv, even if they did have to use Captain Kirk instead of the guy from the story. And the opening is stone cold cool, too. anderynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00039924601338420456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1130024768875427937.post-183375014171953352014-07-24T04:36:03.116-03:002014-07-24T04:36:03.116-03:00One of the classics IMO! I can't imagine we'll see the Gorn more often, since unlike the Romulans you can't slap ears, wigs and carpeting on them and call it a day, but I wouldn't mind a couple more stories involving them-

You and me both. The later era shows never really pick up on their deal.

There is a wargame (played with book, mapsheet, and counters), Star Fleet Battles, where they're one of the major sides, which is neat.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1130024768875427937.post-4741774969039540652014-07-24T04:14:08.240-03:002014-07-24T04:14:08.240-03:00Bill & Ted 2 shot there tooBill & Ted 2 shot there tooAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1130024768875427937.post-51879610846260658602014-07-23T20:13:35.991-03:002014-07-23T20:13:35.991-03:00I mean, yeah, 1966. But they're playable in the Star Trek MMO, so that's something, I guess.

Someone has tried it, and it did indeed go kablooie. Those men who tried it are called the Mythbusters.
